Bring Life to Your Deadlines 💛

I was coached with a “deliver or die” mindset.

Every mission was critical. Failure wasn’t an option. And somehow, I always found a way with my teams to deliver with ethics and morals.

That sharpened skill of critical thinking and continuous improvement earned me much career success.

But at home? It created stress. Distance. Pressure.

Over time, I learned when and how to apply that skill.

My daughter, wise beyond her years and always freely speaking her mind, would often call me out.

She reminds me that not every situation needs optimization or one of my usual life lessons.

Some just need presence.

I started asking better questions:

❓What am I really chasing?

❓What is this deadline costing me?

❓And is the tradeoff worth it?

I realized something radical:

A deadline isn’t always a line worth dying for.

✅ Sometimes, it needs to bend.

✅ Sometimes, it needs to wait.

✅ Sometimes, it's awaiting something bigger and better.

Recently, I moved a deadline to rest after a long fishing trip with my son, so I could be fully present as he prepared for college.

That moment became a lifeline.

I felt at peace knowing I had chosen my life's priorities over a line that was already dead. 🤓

Deadlines are not worth sacrificing your sanity, your physical health, or your relationships.

💛 Bring life to your deadlines.

Let them reflect your standards, principles, and values, not just your deliverables.

When you set your success criteria based on what's most important in life, you'll always find a way to deliver. You'll also notice those around you respect you more for your integrity.

Remember: there is an abundance of loving lifelines, always ready to serve, support, and uplift.

And if you ever wonder: "Who you gonna call?" 👻

Call Nuri! 😎
