“The best way to predict the future is to create it.” – Alan Kay
This past weekend, I joined my son at UC Berkeley for Admitted Students Day.
Thousands of students and parents filled the football stadium for a celebration of pride, inspiration, and fresh beginnings.
While discussing Berkeley engineering, one theme sparked this week’s Golden Trifecta™ reflection:
➡️ How their approach fosters entrepreneurial thinking.
Many professors deliver inspiring lectures and encourage students to prepare for exams by reviewing recordings and engaging in research.
But they don't provide:
❌ Study guides
❌ Fact lists
❌ Hints about what will be tested
Some may see this as ineffective.
We saw it as a strength.
This approach challenges students to think for themselves.
To apply theory, not just repeat answers.
It reminded us of a timeless insight:
💡“Tell me and I forget,
teach me and I may remember,
involve me and I learn.”
– Benjamin Franklin
In my work, I’ve always valued mindset over credentials 🌟 especially in how someone approaches a problem.
One of my biggest frustrations?
Seeing highly educated professionals wait for instructions instead of proposing ideas and taking initiative.
Entrepreneurship requires independent thinking.
It takes courage to break routine, think beyond expectations, and trust your own voice.
Innovators take risks and apply what they know in unique ways to create value.
Breakthroughs happen when theory meets efficient, creative problem-solving.
I’ve seen it over and over: bold ideas born from trusted instincts and optimized processes.
In a previous post, I talked about starting at your best.
Today, I invite you to reflect on how to create your best.
✅ Start with what you know.
✅ Stay curious about what you don’t.
✅ Trust your own perspective.
Whether you're managing a project, navigating conflict, or facing uncertainty...
✨ Lead with independent thinking
🥊 Act with creativity
💛 Serve with humility
This mindset leads to better outcomes.
Some outcomes may even become the original idea that sparks global change. 🔥

See you next Monday, my friends.
