We often measure wealth by the accumulation of material things. However, there are some people who acquire wealth in order to travel the world and maximize their human experience. What if I told you it was possible to maximize your human experience without spending money?

Throughout my life, I have chosen to immerse myself in different experiences and perspectives. I sought opportunities to "run the town" and get lost during a long distance run to get to know new people and observe interactions (not always the safest conditions, but being 6'6" helped). I am grateful everyday for this enriched human experience. I grew up in a household where my grandfather, father, and entire family would only eat meat well done and definitely no raw fish. If I made this experience a hard point of my design, then I would never have experienced the amazing flavors of Kobe steak, fresh sushi, or raw chicken sashimi (after a 15 minute stare down)!

The foundation of basic human experience is rooted in the design of our DNA. As the human body develops, the mind gains knowledge and accumulates wisdom on what it means to experience:

  1. Hot vs Cold

  2. Light vs Dark, spectrums of color..

  3. Spicy, Sweet, Sour, Salty...

  4. Quiet vs Loud

  5. Fragrant vs Pungent

  6. Hunger vs Fullness

  7. Love vs Hate...

These fundamental experiences for each of us are mostly the same, since average Human genetic variance is less than 0.1%. Although we are 99.9% identical, some choose to accept fabricated systematic differences in constructs and adopt varying promoted perceptions of reality, which are only electrical signals interpreted by the brain (Thanks Morpheus!).

However, before we are born we have no choice of the environmental conditions where we begin development. We are born into different levels of socio-economic status, family trauma, skin color shades, religion, country/cultural norms, parental expectations, morality definitions, and political affiliations. All these environmental influences create patterns of norms in our thinking which impact how we perceive the world. Luckily, we are also born with neuroplasticity (e.g. brain's ability to change and adapt) and an agency to define our own design!

Thus, if our focus is to have the most rich human experience, then we must do all that is possible to walk in different footsteps. How many times have you heard someone say they know and respect a culture because they have a "friend" who is from that culture? Have they spent time at that friend's family home for dinner and vice versa? Have they asked their friend to tell them about the struggles and experiences of what it means to be that culture, so they can empathize? It is important to ask ourselves these same questions.

Billionaire tips to maximize your human experience:

  1. Take a walk with someone from a different race / ethnic background, so you can better empathize with their experiences in order to learn how much you are alike.

  2. Visit a Mosque, Temple, Church, etc. to experience what it means to love, worship, and serve from a different perspective so you can witness the common principles practiced.

  3. Have lunch with a friend or neighbor who shares a different political view, cultural experience, or spiritual perspective to understand what's important to them and how that resonates with you.

If you are an office manager, spend a shift shadowing a technician on the line and have that same technician shadow you on some of your strategic decision making meetings. These are just a few examples to try because none of us want to live the chapters of our life in ignorance, without self awareness, and in poverty of human experience.

I believe the truth, wisdom, and power lies in the in between. This gray area has at least 256 shades of understanding to be explored with non judgment to best understand and enrich our human experience. I can tell you from my own experience doing this makes all the difference and unlocks our powers of oneness as human beings.

Continue to search, investigate, and explore my friends! All the best in the richness of human experience to you for 2025 and cheers to our differences uniting us!
