This past week, I had an interesting conversation with a mentee about defining strengths, refining them, and focusing them to bring business value.

We all get clues on what we are good at by what we like to do in our free time or what we loved as children. These are natural gifts that, if practiced perfectly, enable us to become better than ever imagined. Perfect practice is repetition with intention and focus, no matter how small the steps.

My best coaches taught me the boring, painful steps I had to repeat to become great. I learned how to review results, how to mitigate risks, and how to drive business breakthroughs in each objective.

One of my first bosses told me to show up for the daily meeting before anyone else. That simple practice created a habit of hearing the details from the prior shift, building rapport with key team members, and learning the team dynamics. I practiced this with my own unique style, which enabled unforeseen business improvements, opening the doors to many international assignments.

Looking back on my career, I can see how the Golden Trifecta™ applies perfectly to practice. 🤓

✅ LOVE for what you focus on. Have tunnel vision for your goals. All the distractions, resistance, and barriers will become a blur, literally. It will not feel like work because you are focusing on what brings you joy. Love creates the will to build the skill and turns repetition into play.

✅ SERVICE for the business value. Focus on goals bigger than yourself and how you best serve the business need. You may fail the first time, but after countless repetitions, others around you will admire your skills. One day, you will smile at the confident, glowing person you see in the mirror. 🌟

✅ ACTION for what you measure. Your mind analyzes the results you measure and is already thinking subconsciously about the why, how, and what to improve. The next step is to do because consistency always beats intensity.

Perseverance means rising early, resting late, and showing up through every repetition. The destination may be perfection, but relentless practice is the journey. Relentless practice is excellence in motion. ✨

Remember, every boring, frustrating, and time-consuming repetition is an investment in bringing you closer to your goals and showing yourself you care enough to improve. Practice your craft with intention, refine your skills, and feel the everlasting satisfaction of becoming a master of your profession.

🌟This week, pick one ritual, practice it daily, and measure your improvement. Level up. Repeat. Practice with love, serve with purpose, and act with consistency. 😎
