Lately, I’ve had many conversations about university, especially with my son as he narrows down his top choices (a great problem to have!). I recognize the pressure people feel—whether making the decision, in the middle of it, or preparing for it. Hopefully, I can offer some valuable perspectives as an 18-year-old with a few decades of experience.

A college degree is not a golden ticket to success—it’s a stepping stone. The reason it’s called commencement is that it marks a beginning, not an end. I learned to live independently, joined community service programs, and even figured out how to cook. During that time, I realized life is about cherishing experiences, learning continuously, and striving to become our best selves.

🤓 My most memorable Friday nights at university weren’t about parties—they were spent studying with friends or racing my roommate to prove a theorem. There was nothing better than the rush of understanding a new concept or perspective. "The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know." —Albert Einstein

Many successful people—like Steve Jobs and Richard Branson—didn’t finish college, but they were lifelong learners. Their journeys were fueled by curiosity, innovation, and resilience. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education." 🌟

Grades and test scores may open doors, but self-awareness, a noble character, and a kind demeanor determine how far you go. These qualities aren’t always taught in school, yet they define success beyond the classroom. It is up to you to seek out ways to cultivate them.

Setbacks happen. I failed my first college exams but later set the curve. I made the basketball team, got injured, and was cut before the season started. Yet, I landed a study abroad program and a job that sparked my international career. Every failure redirected me toward something greater.

✨Golden Trifecta Education

✅ Think Beyond “Where” to “Why”

What kind of person do you want to become? Choose an environment that best cultivates your growth. The sooner you understand where you thrive, the better.

✅ Develop a Growth Mindset

Face challenges head-on. Build resilience, learn new perspectives, and push beyond comfort zones.

✅ Build Your Own Path

Do you. Your strengths are gifts. Master them, use them to serve others, and your career will unfold naturally. Success isn’t about following a predetermined route—it’s about forging your own.

Whether or not you attend college, success isn't about having all the answers—it’s about learning how to find them. Stay curious. Lean into what excites you. Ultimately, the best education comes from thinking critically, enhancing your character, and making a meaningful impact.

Enjoy your journey, celebrate the struggles—and trust that it will all work out. Or as Lil Wayne put it, "Let it all work out." 🔥
